Impersonation Account Takedown

The more you sell, the more you get imitated. A fake account using your name doesn't just steal sales; it delivers bad customer service in your name, scams people in your name — and you get the bill.

Who this service is for

  • «There are fake accounts using our name.»There are usually more than you think, and some have been there for months.
  • «Our customers buy from a fake account and then complain to us.»The loss of reputation is bigger than the loss of sales: you didn't make the mistake, but you get the bill.
  • «We got one taken down, and a new one opened.»Impersonation isn't a one-off cleanup job. Without regular scanning, they come back.

How we work

Scanning

How many are there

We scan by name, image and product name. There are usually more than you'd think.

File

Proving rights ownership

Platforms respond to the right file, not to the number of complaints. If you have a registered trademark, the process is shorter.

Monitoring

They come back

A removed account often comes back under a new name. Without regular scanning, a takedown is a one-off cleanup.

Don't ask your followers to mass-report. Platforms read that as a campaign and give the report less weight; a single report with the right documentation gets results faster than a thousand complaints.

What we measure

ScopeImpersonation accounts found

Number of active impersonators found in the scan. The first scan is usually the biggest number.

OutcomeTakedown rate

How many reported accounts were removed. When proof of rights ownership is strong, this rate goes up.

SpeedTime from report to takedown

Average time from opening the file to the account being removed.

ContinuityReturning impersonators

Those that come back under a new name after takedown. This number tells you whether protection is one-off or ongoing.

Frequently asked questions

We don't have a registered trademark — can it still be done?

It can be done, but it gets harder and takes longer. Without a registration, we proceed on copyright (your own product photos and copy) and proof of prior use; this works well when the fake account uses your visuals. We also recommend starting the registration process separately — so the protection lasts.

A fake account scammed my customer — are we liable?

Legal liability is a separate matter and a job for a lawyer; we don't give advice in that area. What we do is the operational side: getting the account removed quickly, setting up signals that show your customers which account is real, and monitoring for repeats.

How many can you get taken down?

We don't promise a number, because the platform makes the decision. What we can say is this: reports filed with the right documentation succeed far more often than random complaints. You track the status of every report in a list you can see.

Take it on its own, or as part of a partnership.

Impersonation Account Takedown can also be done as a standalone project: clear scope, clear timeline, no 12-month commitment. In a full partnership, it runs alongside the other work your brand needs, handled by the same team. We decide together on the discovery call which suits you.
